My band is called a Realize band - it has a deflated cushion, similar to a inflatable pillow, around the inside of the band.
The doctor will take saline solution and inject it into my band port which I think is located just under the skin on my right side just below my ribs. This will fill in the cushion and restrict my pouch even more.
Up until this point I've been just healing from the surgery and waiting for the swelling to go down. Now that the healing is all finished I basically just have a band that is not restricted, hanging out around the top part of my stomach. My weight loss up to this point has been just portion control and exercise. That's a good thing, but I can feel the munchies sneaking up on me. Hopefully with the band fill, the munchies will go away and I'll be back on track to losing again.
So far I've lost a total of 38 pounds (according to the doc's scales). I can't believe I'm almost at 40!! Whooo hooo!
